Haji Abdul Aziz Bazaz is an established artisan in wood carving Abdul Aziz Bazaz learnt the craft from his ancestors and continues to pass the skills on to his sons. He is always trying to improve this craft by generating new designs and techniques, developed through his wealth of experience.

Abdul Aziz Bazaz was a drop out from the primary school because he lost his father when he was just nine years old. He joined Handloom industry, spinning the Charkha was his routine for eight years. During that span of time he was trained in designing and yarning woolen shawls. Later he was also trained in the art of carving on wood.

Haji has won state and national awards, and also works training new artisans in his workshop at his home. He has trained about 500 students who have become self reliant in handicrafts of Kashmir.

Veteran Abdul Aziz Bazaz gently taps on the walnut wood and beautifully carves the everlasting finesse handicrafts items of Kashmir.
